A fun afternoon at the American West Heritage Center

We got a beautiful tree from the AWHC this year and with it came a train ride and lots of fun. We made an orange and cinnamon stick garland for the tree. Having something we made together really adds to the tree, though it is kind of sparse. Still drying oranges.

Ethan, Dad, Jess and the dogs went looking for snow.

Ethan's Aunt Lindsey, Uncle Lars and Cousin Reid come up for a visit. And Shannon came over to join. Ethan adores his aunts, uncles and cousin.

The rug I just finished for Ethan's room. I've been trying to figure out what to make ever since I first saw this beautiful bird fabric.

Our little friend is still catching wasps outside of our bathroom window. We love watching her. We've seen her spin multiple webs now.

Apples

Cinnamon and mace are usually my spices of choice for apple cobbler, but today I tried rosemary and it was delicious. I mixed a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice in ~1.5 lb. apples, ~ 1/3 C. sugar, and a couple of pinches of ground rosemary. Much less spice than I would normally add but I didn't want the flavor to be too strong. The flavor was subtle and perfect.
